2014        Cobain: Montage of Heck

-145 min, HBO music documentary about Kurt Cobain, director Brett Morgan, animation director Hisko Hulsing, animation Marlyn Spaaij, the film premiered at Sundance 2015  and was nominated for “Best Animated Special Production” during the 43th edition of the Annie Awards.


2013-2014    Trippel Trappel: Dierensinterklaas

-60 min, feature film, directors Albert ‘t Hooft & Paco Vink, screenplay Michiel Snijders & Arnoud Rijken, animation Marlyn Spaaij, the film premiered at the Dutch Film Festival in 2014 and was released in Dutch, Belgian and French theatres in 2014.


2013        Boek van de Maand “The Circle”

2012        Jeugdliteratuur nu

Side activities


Exposition ‘Futuropolis 2018’

Participated in a comic-art project set up by WGkunst other participants among others where Maaike Hartjes, Hein de Kort and Wasco.


Board member 2018 – present

Is member of the board at DAMD (Dutch animation union). Organized ‘The Short Weekend’ in collaboration with the Dutch Network of Screenwriters and develops concepts for a youth campaign for the Art Union (Kunstenbond).


Teaching 2014 – 2018

Storyboard guest teacher at the St. Joost Academy.





Participated in European Short Pitch 2016, and won best pitch. Participated in Cartoon Springboard 2017.

Obtained her MA in Animation, cum laude. Made the graduation short ‘Stupid Monkey’ wrote the thesis ‘Why Do I Laugh When You Get Hurt.’


The Open University 2009 – 2010

Obtained her MA in Animation, cum laude and wrote the thesis ‘Psychological Knowledge as a Motivational Base for Acting in Animation.’


HKU (Utrecht School of the Arts) 2006 – 2010

Obtained her BA in Animation, cum laude. Curated the symposium ‘Animating Science, Visualizing Content’ for KLIK! Amsterdam Animation Festival (2010) and wrote the accompanying publication ‘Simply Communicating Complexity.’
